Short version: we collect the information needed to run the website, provide the hosted embeddings API, secure the service, and support customers. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use API inputs, outputs, or returned embeddings to train public or shared models unless you explicitly agree in writing.

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to information we process through:

  • The DOTPROX website and related documentation pages.
  • Sales, support, and enterprise communications.
  • The hosted bible-embed API and related developer access.
  • Third-party platforms through which our model may be made available.

This policy does not replace any separate written agreement, data processing addendum, or enterprise contract. If we enter into one of those agreements with you, that agreement controls to the extent of any conflict.

If you use the hosted API as part of your own application, service, or product, you are responsible for your own privacy notices and for any legal obligations you may owe to your end users or data subjects.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information you provide directly

  • Name, company name, email address, and other contact details.
  • Messages you send to us for sales, support, or enterprise discussions.
  • Account, billing, or onboarding information if you request paid access.

2.2 API and service data

  • Text inputs you submit to the hosted embeddings API.
  • Returned embeddings and related response metadata.
  • Request metadata such as timestamps, model identifiers, response status, and usage volume.
  • Security and abuse-prevention signals such as IP address, authentication status, and rate-limit events.

2.3 Website and diagnostic data

  • IP address, browser type, device information, and approximate geo-derived region.
  • Pages visited, referrers, timestamps, and performance or error diagnostics.
  • Cookie, local storage, or similar session data if we use them for site operation or analytics.

3. How We Use Information

We use information we collect to:

  • Operate, maintain, and secure the website and hosted API.
  • Authenticate access, enforce rate limits, and investigate misuse.
  • Respond to support requests, enterprise evaluations, and self-hosting inquiries.
  • Monitor reliability, debug incidents, reconcile usage, and improve service operations.
  • Comply with law, enforce our policies, and protect users, customers, and DOTPROX.
  • Use automated systems and limited human review where reasonably necessary for security, abuse prevention, incident response, billing support, or legal compliance.

4. Training and Model Improvement

DOTPROX does not use API inputs, outputs, or returned embeddings submitted through the hosted bible-embed API to train public, shared, or third-party models unless you explicitly opt in or we separately agree to that use in writing.

We may use de-identified operational metrics, aggregate service statistics, and abuse signals to improve reliability, pricing, capacity planning, and service quality.

5. How We Disclose Information

We may disclose information in the following situations:

  • To infrastructure, hosting, networking, support, analytics, billing, or security vendors acting on our behalf.
  • To professional advisors such as legal, accounting, or insurance providers where reasonably necessary.
  • To comply with law, regulation, court order, or valid government request.
  • To investigate or prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, or policy violations.
  • In connection with a merger, financing, asset sale, or acquisition involving all or part of our business.
  • With your direction or consent.

If you access bible-embed through a third-party platform such as OpenRouter, that platform may also collect and process your data under its own terms, privacy policy, and retention practices before routing your request to us.

6. Retention

We keep information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including to provide the service, maintain security, comply with law, and resolve disputes.

  • Limited API request content, embeddings, and diagnostic logs may be retained for up to 30 days for security, debugging, billing reconciliation, and abuse prevention.
  • Account, billing, contract, and support records may be retained longer where needed for business records, tax, legal, or audit obligations.
  • Aggregated or de-identified analytics may be retained for longer operational analysis.
  • We may retain information longer than the standard periods above if reasonably necessary to investigate misuse, enforce our policies, protect the service, or comply with law.

Enterprise or self-hosted arrangements may use different retention terms if separately agreed in writing.

Unless we expressly agree otherwise in writing, we do not make public data residency, localization, or region-restriction commitments for the hosted API.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. International Processing

DOTPROX operates from the United States and may use service providers in other jurisdictions. By using the site or service, you understand that your information may be processed in countries that may have different data protection laws than your home jurisdiction.

9. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain personal information, or to object to certain processing. You may also request information about how we process your personal information.

To make a request, contact contact@dotprox.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

10. Children

DOTPROX is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to review and delete it.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version here and update the “Last updated” date above.
